More than 200 students of SMK N 1 Indramayu visited the Office Administration Education Study Program (S1), Faculty of Economics (FE) UNY recently. The group consisting of students of the Accounting and Office Administration expertise program was led by Dra. H. Tuti Indriati, MM and accompanied by several teachers. In addition to introducing the campus world to students, this visit was also to learn about some practical activities in the laboratory owned by FE UNY. The group was received by Deputy Dean I Prof. Sukirno, PhD and several lecturers at the Department of Accounting Education and Office Administration Education FE UNY.

In his speech, Sukirno said that FE UNY educates the best students. “With interest which is one of the biggest in UNY, FE UNY certainly contains the best students selected from various regions in Indonesia. In addition to regular classes, FE UNY also has superior classes that graduate professionals in the field of education to meet global demands,” he explained.

In line with that, Tuti Indriati representing SMK N 1 Indramayu hopes that students can take lessons from this visit. "The era of the ASEAN Economic Community which has taken effect this year, of course, should not be underestimated. Vocational High School graduates will be required to be more independent, lest we become spectators in our own country, "said Tuti. In the presentation of the department, a lecturer in the Accounting Education Department, Arief Zulianto S., M.Sc, explained that the Accounting Education Department not only graduated a prospective teacher in the field of Accounting Education, but also a professional candidate in the accounting field. “In addition to being a professional accountant, graduates can also establish their own Public Accounting Firm, or become professional auditors. For this reason, we have an auditing laboratory and collaborate with various public accounting firms,” he said.

The students are also invited to know the various laboratories in FE UNY. Lecturer of Office Administration Education Arwan Nur Ramadhan, M.Pd assists students in getting to know the Computer Laboratory and Digital Archives. In addition, teachers and students also learn about various office equipment and technology at the Office Technology Laboratory. (fadhli)
